Features of growing ashwagandha from seeds
Germination of seed material includes several stages, presented:
- by soaking the seeds;
- germination of seeds;
- sowing prepared seed material into the ground.
To perform soaking, in addition to the seed material, it is necessary to prepare ordinary cotton pads, as well as clean room temperature water and a non-transparent plastic container. Prepared for germination, the seeds are placed on a cotton pad with a distance of half a centimeter from each other. Then the seeds are covered with another cotton pad, lowered to the bottom of the plastic container and watered with warm water. Discs should be constantly moist enough. Periodically, you need to make a visual inspection, and when the bite appears, it is sown in the ground.
Any ready-made floral soil is suitable for germination. It is also necessary to prepare containers for sowing, a small amount of perlite or vermiculite, and clean water at room temperature. The nutrient soil substrate is mixed with perlite or vermiculite in a ratio of one to one. Planting containers are filled with ready-made nutrient soil, after which thorough moistening is performed, and sowing holes are made with a depth of 7-10 mm. Germinated seeds lowered into the recess are carefully sprinkled with soil, after which irrigation is performed.
Plantings must necessarily provide a greenhouse effect for faster germination. For this purpose, a transparent polyethylene film or fiberglass is used. Then you need to provide crops with fresh air. Capacities with crops are installed in a warm and relatively dark place until emergence. With proper organization of germination, all sown seeds germinate within two days. In the future, it is necessary to provide plants with optimal microclimatic conditions for growth and development, systematic irrigation and shallow loosening of the soil.
