How to speed up garden cleaning?

In the fall, our gardens and lawns under the trees are full of fallen leaves. In large gardens, cleaning leaves with a rake and a broom can be very time consuming. And then what to do with such a handful of leaves? Fortunately, there is a way not only to speed up the cleaning of the garden, but also to reduce the number of discarded bags with leaves up to 10 times!

Imagine that you have to clean your house or apartment with one broom. All rugs, carpets, floors. Without using a vacuum cleaner. True, it will be a difficult and very laborious task? No one can imagine cleaning a house today without this device. Moreover, when buying a vacuum cleaner, there is never a question, whether this acquisition is worth it, the problem is only in which model to choose.

Similarly, cleaning your garden will be accelerated by using a suitable leaf vacuum cleaner. A garden vacuum cleaner is a great way to clean the garden much faster than traditional methods. Using a garden vacuum cleaner, you can remove fallen leaves, small twigs, mowed grass, cones, acorns and sand from paths, terraces, driveways and floors in garages. And you do not need to worry that you will touch the flowers growing next to them, what happens when we use a rake.

A vacuum cleaner will be especially useful if you need to take care of a large garden. Then you will feel the obvious saving of your time, and cleaning will become simple and convenient. Vacuum cleaner leaves and other garden waste will fall into a bag attached to the vacuum cleaner.

This way, you don’t have to bend over to pick them up and put them in bags or containers.

Cleaning surfaces such as garden paths or terraces will also be easier and faster, and more accurately than with traditional cleaning. It will be possible to suck in leaves, plant debris or sand from crevices and nooks, access to which we do not get, removing the traditional broom.

In addition to being able to absorb leaves and other garden waste, many garden vacuums also have the ability to grind waste. Dried leaves, blades of grass and small branches are carefully ground before they get into the bag. This will bring you two very important benefits. First of all: shredded waste takes up much less space in bags.

The volume of leaves after grinding is reduced by more than 10 times! Thanks to this, you can save more space for storing waste and save when exporting to a landfill. You will feel the second benefit if you do not dump the collected waste into the garbage and use it for composting.

Electric or diesel?

This is a major dilemma when buying most mechanized garden equipment (such as a lawn mower or brush cutter).

I recommend exhaust vacuum cleaners to owners of large gardens because they maneuver with a long cable between trees and bushes. In addition, the use of a too long power cable (more than 30 m) is associated with a drop in power. If you do not have a power source on the site, then you have no particular choice - you need to buy equipment with an internal combustion engine.

However, internal combustion engines also have their drawbacks - they require more frequent maintenance, emit flue gases (can be unpleasant for prolonged operation), and also work louder than electric motors.

Therefore, for small household plots bordering other facilities, I definitely recommend electric sheet vacuums. They work much quieter, easier to manage and require virtually no maintenance, which is a huge advantage when used by an amateur.

However, when using an electric vacuum cleaner, you should not use it after rain, when the leaves are still wet. When the leaves are wet or laid in different corners and nooks and crannies, it will be more efficient to use the blower function. Use it to pile leaves in one place. During this operation, the leaves will dry out a little and suctioning the dried leaves from one heap will be very easy.
